The Festival of Lights
Last week ended the Festival of Lights which illuminated many of Berlin's most famous buildings. Bill went to see some of them and here are a few samples. In daylight most of these buildings look grey and drab, but at night they looked enchanting.
Here's the Dom (the Cathedral):
The Humboldt University with pictures of one of the flower discoveries by Alexander von Humboldt:
Another Humboldt University building:
The Brandenburg Gate:
And the changing colors on the TV Tower:
Note the green light beam above the buildings going up from right to left towards the tower.
This two-week festival took place all over the city and was a fun attraction for tourists and Berliners alike.
